Cancer Survivors Day set for Sunday, June 2nd
There are close to 17 million cancer survivors living in the United States. Whether those milestones are getting through the first round of treatment, celebrating another birthday or going into remission, all of these milestone memories are deserving of celebration.
On Sunday, June 2, UnityPoint Health® - John Stoddard Cancer Center and MercyOne Des Moines Cancer Center are inviting all cancer survivors along with their families, friends and caregivers to enjoy an afternoon at the Science Center of Iowa.
“At John Stoddard Cancer Center, we are dedicated to creating more celebrations by giving you the most personalized and professional care for your cancer,” says Gina Mandernach, Oncology Outreach Coordinator, John Stoddard Cancer Center. “The Science Center of Iowa is the perfect place for cancer survivors to celebrate their milestones as a community.”
Survivors and guests may arrive any time between 12:00-5:00 p.m. All are invited to gather in Principal Hall at 2:00 p.m. for light refreshments and a short program.
Admission tickets for each cancer survivor and one guest will be paid for by the Cancer Centers. Additional tickets may be purchased for $4 each by Thursday, May 30. Children under 2 are free.
