Angie's Testimonial

Angie Juergens has developed a wonderful relationship with the midwives, nurses and support staff at Midwife Service at UnityPoint Health - Des Moines. The Midwives have always provided her family with compassion and personalized care they are looking for.  She can't imagine going through this process without them.

Midwife Services delivered all four of Angie and Alex's children - Max, Emily, Lane and Cole. They were so happy to have the Midwives there for each delivery to help make it a special experience and to welcome their babies into the world. The following is a testimonial from Angie written in her own words.

A Personal Experience

After having four children with the Midwife office, I've developed some great relationships with the midwives, nurses, and the entire office staff.  They have all helped to make my pregnancies so memorable. I appreciate being recognized at each visit and the time they take to just visit with me. I love that there is always enough time to ask questions or discuss concerns with the midwives and the nurses.  I never feel rushed when I'm there. I'm not just a number - I'm an individual that feels valued. I've discovered that some of them even live in Norwalk where we live and that our kids go to school together!

I've referred several friends to the Midwives and I always tell them that they will receive personal attention and time from the Midwives. I reassure them that if at any point the midwives feel the patient needs help beyond what they can provide, I am confident that the Midwives would make the decision that is best for mom and baby.

Special Care During Delivery

Delivery can be a stressful experience but I was so happy to have the Midwives there with me for each one. They spent a significant amount of time in my hospital room during deliveries and I'm always amazed by the quality and quantity of care from the Midwives.  Pam Jach delivered my children and I'm very thankful that she was there to share the experience with us. It was great to have her there for several hours of my delivery.  It was also important for me to have a female health provider.  For some, it may not be significant, but for me it is. The Midwives are moms themselves and they can sympathize with my experience, my pain, my joys, my anxiety, everything that comes with the pregnancy and delivery.

All four of my children were born at Iowa Methodist Medical Center and we were very happy with the care we received. The nurses are all very supportive and the rooms are so large and clean, I remember thinking that it didn't fell like a hospital at all. I've always commented that it's like going to a hotel for a few days, maybe not the delivery part, but the care and amenities really make it such a tremendous experience for such a special time in our lives. With each delivery I've looked forward to those few days in the Iowa Methodist Maternity Center - it really adds to the "specialness" of adding a new baby to our family!

Life as a Mom of Four

There's never a dull moment in our family and I love every minute of it.  It's loud and exciting and fun.  There are lots of hugs and kisses and everyone wants mom's attention nearly all of the time. There are so many things that pass each day that I want to remember forever.  We've had really good times and I know I'll look back and say it's the best time of my life. There is no doubt that it can be stressful at times, sometimes multiple times a day.  But there's nothing like it. God has really blessed us with four beautiful and wonderful kids.  And I'm really, really thankful for a husband who is so supportive, helpful, involved and loving. Having four kids has been a blessing and I would recommend it to anyone!
