Meet our full time athletic training staff:

Chris Ipson, MA, LAT, ATC
Chris has a master's degree in Sport Sciences from Denver University and has been a certified athletic trainer since 1980. He has over 35 years of experience in professional and Division I ice hockey and serves as athletic trainer and equipment manager for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the USHL.

Vince Klopfenstein, MS, LAT, ATC, CSCS, NASM PES
Vince has a master's degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with an emphasis in injury prevention and performance enhancement from California University of Pennsylvania. He has been certified since 2005 and came to UnityPoint Health in February 2012. Vince is the lead athletic trainer for the Sports Medicine program at St. Luke's Hospital and provides athletic training for the Linn Mar school district.

Sabrina Maginnis, EdD, LAT, ATC
Sabrina earned the Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Gardner-Webb University. She has been certified since 2006 and came to UnityPoint Health in September 2016. Sabrina works PRN (as needed) for Sports Medicine. 

CaraLynn Scott, MS, LAT, ATC
CaraLynn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Coe College and her Master of Science degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Athletic Training.  She has been a certified athletic trainer since 2007.  CaraLynn joined St. Luke's in 2016 and works PRN (as needed) for Sports Medicine. 

Nicole Trumpold  LAT, ATC
Nicole has a Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training from The University of Iowa. Nicole joined St. Luke's in 2011. Nicole is contracted out to Coe College and works with Volleyball, Wrestling, Cross Country and Baseball. 

Shawna Wilson, LAT, ATC
Shawna Wilson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Shawna joined St. Luke's in 2014 and works PRN (as needed) for Sports Medicine. 

Peggy Wittmer, RN, BSN, IBCLC, LAT,ATC
Peggy is a nurse and certified lactation consultant at the Birth Care Center at St. Luke's.  She earned her Bachelor of Science and Nursing degree from Coe College in 1979.  She has been a certified athletic trainer since 1987.   Peggy  joined St. Luke's in 1978 and works PRN (as needed) for Sports Medicine.

Marissa Yorgey, LAT, ATC
Marissa earned a bachelor's of arts in Athletic Training from Cedarville University in Ohio and her Master's in Athletic Training from Indiana State University. Marissa has been a certified athletic trainer since 2014 and enjoys working in the youth sports setting. Currently, Marissa works with Linn-Mar School District, providing care for junior high and high school athletics.
