Information

Comfort Skills Part 2 class is builds on what was learned in Comfort Skills Part 1Comfort Skills Part 1 Class is REQUIRED to attend before taking Comfort Skills Part 2    This class can also be taken if you have already attended the Childbirth Block class before the date you wish to take Comfort Skills Part 2.

In this second “hands-on” class, you will learn various ways to apply counter-pressure, massage techniques & how to use a bed sheet, scarf or rebozo for support and relaxation in labor.

During this class you will also your opportunity to have a practice labor rehearsal with your partner before your actual labor & birth. There will be a lengthened opportunity to practice breathing skills, positioning, using the birth & peanut balls and various comfort techniques learned in Comfort Skills Parts 1 & 2 classes during a mock labor scenario.

This is a completely “hands-on” practice so EACH mom-to-be needs a support person to attend this class with her.

For this class:

  • Bring 3 bed size pillows

  • Bring your “Labor Support Bag” to class—this is a bag of items you plan to use during labor (massage tools, Chap Stick, tennis balls, foam noodle, your focusing object, washcloth, etc.).

  • Wear comfortable clothing as you will be on the floor during the labor rehearsal
