Child Life Council
The Child Life Council has been established to work on professional issues and further develop Child Life programs. This is the professional organization for Child Life Specialists. It had functioned under the umbrella of ACCH until May of 1991, at which time it became a separate organization. ACCH is now no longer in existence.
The Child Life Council (CLC) also holds an annual conference. Members of the CLC are invited to work on a variety of committees which develops standards in the education and training of Child Life Specialists. The council also develops competencies, a core curriculum and other forms of quality assurance. The Council publishes a newsletter, maintains a job bank and screens certifiable professionals. You can receive a packet which contains a current application by sending a check or money order for $5.00 to the Child Life Council.
