International Adoption Clinic
Every year, thousands of children from across the world are adopted by families in the United States. The initial medical evaluation is both challenging and very important. A comprehensive and thorough evaluation of their medical history (when available), current health status and future challenges are key aspects in the future development and adaptation of adoptees to their new home.
The Pediatric Infectious Diseases experts at Blank Children's Hospital provide services to families with a new member coming from abroad for the initial medical evaluation, including catch-up immunizations, health assessment and screening for infectious diseases that may be prevalent in their country of origin, including tuberculosis, hepatitis B, HIV and intestinal parasites.
