Child Personal Safety - Education & Prevention 

Blank Children's Hospital Center for Advocacy an Outreach provides personal safety education and prevention services to children, families and the community. The Greater Des Moines Child Assault Prevention (CAP) program is a school-based program educating school staff, parents and students in the classroom. The Center for Advocacy and Outreach works to provide community education designed to educate and empower children and all community members. Blank Children's Hospital has established community partnerships with area human service agencies from the greater Des Moines metro area. This collaborative group provides community education in the area of child personal safety and well-being. This community education encourages prevention and early intervention in child personal safety issues such as:

  • Bullying
  • Stranger Abduction
  • Child Maltreatment
  • Child Sexual Abuse
