Celiac Disease:
A genetic autoimmune disease triggered by Gluten, a protein found in certain grains, resulting in damage to the small intestine. Symptoms present may be:
- Fatigue
- Migraine-like headaches
- Constipation and/or diarrhea
- Similar to those associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Infertility
If you have Diabetes Type 1 or another autoimmune disease, you are at a greater risk of developing Celiac Disease (CD).

- It is genetic and not rare
- The good news is, it's treatable
- 1 in 130 people have or will have CD in their lifetime
- An estimated 85% of people affected don't know they have CD
- CD can present itself at any age
