About Occupational Health
History and Size of Firm
Allen Occupational Health Services is a full service healthcare
provider exclusively designed and maintained for the Business and
Industry community. The occupational medicine clinic began at the
request of a large local employer in Allen Hospital's Emergency
Department in 1985 and is now a separate department containing 23 exam
rooms or offices.
Acute injury/illness care, emergency services, laboratory testing,
radiology, therapy services, employee assistance program, and
pharmaceutical needs are all located in one easily accessed facility.
Allen Emergency Services and Prairie Medical Park's Urgent Care facility
offer additional access options for workplace medical needs. Client
companies refer employees for acute injury care and drug screening
services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are assured of the same low
prices despite the point of access. Our fee structure is analyzed
continuously to assure appropriate and competitive charging practices.
Allen Occupational Health served more than 1500 businesses in Northeast
Iowa through clinical and on-site services in 2010. Contract nursing and
physician services are provided on-site at two separate businesses. A
36-foot straight truck mobile testing unit travels through Northeast
Iowa to provide on-site medical screenings at businesses.
Contractual Relationships or Partnerships
Allen Occupational Health is supported by a full range of health

Occupational Health Services has developed an impressive network of

assure the quality, appropriateness, and cost-effectiveness of the
services provided to client companies.
Contractual relationships are maintained with numerous businesses and
third party administrators per their request. Registration as a business

at Allen Hospital and United Medical Park on an as needed basis, 24 hour
per day, 7 days per week. Allen Hospital / Allen Occupational Health
has an exceptional working relationship with the Cedar Valley Medical
Specialists, a group of physicians involved in 21 different medical
