Construction has shifted south on our campus and access from 27th Street north on Pierce Street is now closed. Access from 29th Street is now OPEN, which allows additional parking in Lot E (see map below). Please follow pedestrian sidewalks to get you to where you need to go.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to provide parking closer to our hospital and additional safety to our patients and visitors.

Starting Tuesday, July 17th, weather dependent, Pierce Street will be closed north of 27th Street. The 29th Street and Pierce Street intersection will re-open to traffic and UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s valet and parking access will be maintained from the north. A full detour will be posted from 27th Street to Nebraska Street to 29th Street. We are starting to see the exciting new changes being made on our campus, with the addition of some new concrete being poured today!

As concrete is poured and construction starts to shift during the next couple of weeks, we ask that you continue to look for signage that will direct you to where you need to go.

Starting Thursday, May 24, the visitor parking lot on the east side of Pierce Street will be closed for construction work. Patient and visitor parking is located in Lot B, Lot D and the Physician Center Parking Ramp as shown in the map below. As construction progresses on Pierce Street, we ask that for your safety you please refrain from crossing the street through the construction site, except for in fenced off areas. We will continue to provide signage and updates that will direct you where to go.

UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s is excited to partner with the City of Sioux City on a construction project which will provide new parking opportunities closer to the hospital and additional safety to our patients and visitors. Construction of Pierce Street has started and we wanted you to be aware of road changes prior to your upcoming visit.

Road construction is taking place on Pierce Street between 27th and 29th Street, which will result in temporary closures of segments of the street and parking lots.

St. Luke’s is dedicated to helping our patients and visitors continue to have access to the hospital throughout this project.
• The Pierce Street entrances to St. Luke’s, Pierce Street Same Day Surgery and St. Luke's College will remain open during the entire project, which is anticipated to last through July.
• Free valet service is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Street access to the hospital is available through 27th Street during construction; detour signs will be in place.

For those community members that enjoy a leisurely walk through our tunnels, please note that a portion of these tunnels will be closed from April 2 through the end of May. The tunnel will be closed as you exit the hospital and head towards St. Luke’s College and the Physician Center (the area that sits under the construction site). You can view a map of the tunnel closure here.

St. Luke’s is pleased to have the opportunity to partner with the City in such a significant project and we thank you for your patience during this time. Please check back on our website for continuous up-to-date information.
