Ep. 217 New Clinician Spotlight - Dr. Arpit Sothwal
Why did you become a physician? Being an asthmatic, I was in and out of the hospital and experienced the hospital setting early in life. Because of that, I developed a passion for becoming a doctor.
As a provider, what is your medical philosophy? Every patient is different, and I believe in personalized patient care.
What type of care/clinical interests are you most passionate about? Outpatient cardiac care is where I believe the most difference can be made in patients' lives. Good preventive heart care keeps patients out of the hospital.
What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients? Personalized, accessible, evidence-based medicine.
Being a healthcare provider, what drives/motivates you each day? I listen to my patients and believe they know themselves best. My goal is to make a positive difference in their lives by empowering them to take the best care of themselves.
What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice? I am confident patients will walk out of my office feeling heard, empowered and motivated to care for their health. 
Areas of Expertise/Clinical Interests: Management of complex cardiac patients, including congestive heart failure, 3D structural transesophageal echocardiogram and cardiac CT.
Procedures: Hemodynamic invasive cardiac catheterization, coronary angiogram, transesophageal echocardiogram, cardioversion, loop recorder implantation, temporary pacemaker, percutaneous pericardiocentesis, central lines, temporary dialysis catheter insertions. 
Personal Interests: Outside of work I enjoy biking, hiking and swimming.
