Stress Test

A stress test is a noninvasive test used to diagnose blockages in the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart. The patient performs strenuous exercise on a treadmill or stationary bicycle. Electrocardiograms are taken before, during, and after the exercise. This test helps the doctor determine how the heart functions during exercise and if it gets enough blood flow when it works harder.
