Employee Spotlight: Hilary Hughes Lives Our Mission
Certified Medical Assistant, Hilary Hughes, lives our mission. When you think of the word FOCUS – Foster Unity, Own the Moment, Champion Excellence, UnityPoint Health, and Seize Opportunities – that’s Hilary.
“Hilary has an exceptional work ethic,” said Dana Bradshaw, Clinic Administrator for First Care – Peoria Heights. “She is self-motivated and always willing to help wherever and whenever. She is a real team player with her coworkers; she’s just a kind-hearted and considerate person.”
A Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan, Hilary is a consummate cook and baker who loves to sing with the choir at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria. Twice she’s been president of the American Association for Medical Assistants local chapter in McLean County and stays active in the group. Hilary is a graduate of Limestone High School and Mid-State College.
“I love meeting new people,” said Hilary. “That’s my favorite part of what I do, interacting with patients. Patient care is my priority.”
Hilary is vital to operations at First Care – Peoria Heights. She’s worked there for twelve years, a real veteran that everyone turns to in a pinch. “Hilary is a person that you would treasure to have as an employee and friend,” said Dana.
Through her twelve years at First Care, Hilary says the one thing that troubles her most is a general lack of knowledge about their health, for some people. “I enjoy helping patients understand their health care. I wish more people would make their health a priority,” said Hilary.
Thank you Hilary for all that you do for your patients and the team at First Care – Peoria Heights.
