Baby Safety

Babies and young children are naturally curious, and we want to provide a safe environment for little ones to explore. In our Baby Safety class, a certified baby safety expert will help you identify safety dangers and teach tips on how you can prevent unintentional injuries due to these hazards. Topics covered in this 2.5 hour class include nursery safety, safe sleeping, home safety, baby-proofing your home, and a brief discussion on car seat basics.  

Car Seat Safety and CPR are not included in this class. You can take a CPR class through the local Red Cross or the 411 Safety Shop in West Des Moines.

Classes at Iowa Methodist Medical Center are held in the Education & Research Center (ERC). View Maps & Directions to Iowa Methodist Medical Center and the Education & Research Center. Please note: the Woodland Avenue doors will be locked. View this video for parking and finding the ERC.

Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. If this should happen, you will be notified by e-mail and/or a phone call and given the opportunity to register for the next available class.
