Writing Circle Mondays are open to cancer patients and cancer survivors. Each evening we create a safe space, and then write together for timed intervals to writing prompts. Writing prompts inspire stories from our lives. After each timed-writing session, participants will have the opportunity to read their stories to the group, which is healing on many levels.

Sign up for one to eight sessions held virtually: April 22 & 29, May 6 & 20, July 22 & 29 and August 12 & 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is required, as each session will cap at 10 writers.

For questions or to register, email gina.mandernach@unitypoint.org or call 515-241-8505.

Writing Through Cancer writing circles are led by Ana McCracken, founder of the Ames Writers Collective, an organization committed to creating healthy communities through the art of writing. These sessions are inspired by the Amherst Writers & Artist method, which believes that everyone is a writer. Writing Circle Monday sessions are sponsored by John Stoddard Cancer Center as part of the Charlie Cutler Healing and Wellness Program.
