Ann Ebert, PharmD
Ann is the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Perinatology at UnityPoint Health – Meriter. Ann received her Pharm.D. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1988. She completed a Pediatric Pharmacy Practice Residency at United and Children's Hospitals in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1989. She began working at Meriter Hospital in 1989 after completion of her residency program. Ann is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin.
Ann's primary responsibility at UnityPoint Health – Meriter is to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and intermediate care nursery. She attends daily work rounds with the medical team and provides input for patient care. She also monitors patients that are admitted to the obstetrics areas of the hospital and works collaboratively with health care providers to ensure appropriate patient care. The NICU is a primary rotation site for medical residents resulting in many opportunities for teaching. Ann offers her NICU rotation to pharmacy students as well as residents. Ann also provides didactic lectures to pharmacy students at the University of Wisconsin, School of Pharmacy in both fluid and electrolytes and neonatal pharmacotherapy. Ann maintains active membership in a variety of organizations including ASHP, the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group, the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care (WAPC), the Perinatal Foundation and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin. She is past president of WAPC and currently serves on the Perinatal Foundation Board of Directors.
Mimi Levinson, PharmD, BCPS
Mimi is the Drug Information Specialist at UnityPoint Health – Meriter. Mimi graduated from the University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D. in 1990. She completed an ASHP-accredited residency in Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Michigan Medical Centers in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mimi then completed a residency in Drug Information at the University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. After working at the University of Arizona Medical Center as a clinical pharmacist in charge of DUE, she accepted the position of Drug Information Specialist at Meriter Hospital in 1993.
As the Drug Information Specialist, Mimi answers drug information questions posed by physicians, nurses and pharmacists. She also provides staff support to the Meriter Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, as well as input on other multidisciplinary committees in the hospital. Mimi maintains an elective rotation for PharmD students in the area of Drug Information. Her areas of interest include toxicology/poison information, and medication error prevention. Mimi is a member of ACCP and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Catherine Sesing, PharmD, BCPS
Cathy is the Ambulatory Care Specialist at UnityPoint Health – Meriter Arbor Gate clinic. She is the preceptor for the elective ambulatory care services rotation for residents. Cathy received her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin in 1986. She completed an internship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in 1987. She started working at Meriter Hospital in 1987 and is practicing primarily in the areas of hematology/anticoagulation, glucose & pain management, and nutrition support. She completed her PharmD degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1998 and is Board-certified as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist.
Cathy's areas of interest include anticoagulation, dyslipidemia, CHF, diabetes, pain and nutrition support. Cathy holds an appointment as a Clinical Instructor for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin. Cathy maintains active membership in ASHP,ACCP, and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Andrea M. Maier PharmD, BCPS
Drea is co-preceptor of the internal medicine rotation for residents. She received her PharmD degree from University of Wisconsin in 2007 and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at UnityPoint Health – Meriter in 2008. Upon completion of her residency she accepted a Clinical Pharmacist position at Meriter and has since staffed all of the decentral shifts.
Drea is the lead pharmacist for internal medicine and regularly staffs internal medicine and emergency services shifts. She holds an appointment as a Clinical Instructor for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin. She is a preceptor for acute care medicine for pharmacy students. Drea maintains active membership in ACCP and Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Kimberly Lintner, PharmD, BCPP
Kim is a Clinical Pharmacist and PGY1 Residency Program Director at UnityPoint Health – Meriter. She is a preceptor for the psychiatry, neurology and precepting elective rotations. She received her PharmD degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2001 and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Meriter Hospital in 2002. Kim is a Clinical Instructor for the School of Pharmacy in addition to being a co-coordinator of the Teaching Certificate Program for Pharmacy Residents.
Her primary focus is on neurology, adult psychiatry and addiction medicine patient care. Kim also is a preceptor for internal medicine for student pharmacists. She is a former co-advisor for the pharmacy student organization, Wisconsin Society of Pharmacy Students. She is a member of CPNP, ACCP, ASHP, and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Steven Ebert, PharmD, FCCP, BCPS
Steve is the Infectious Diseases Specialist and the Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor within the Department of Pharmacy at UnityPoint Health – Meriter. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy for the University of Wisconsin in 1979 and his PharmD degree from the University of Texas. He completed a residency in Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. Steve is also a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin. His infectious diseases rotation is offered to both Pharm.D. students and residents
Steve's activities at Meriter focus on providing optimal antimicrobial therapy to patients and maintaining a supervisory role in the department. He is also an accomplished researcher, having published over 80 articles, book chapters and abstracts. He has given innumerable lectures and presentations pertaining to infectious diseases. He is a member of ACCP, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, American Society for Microbiology, and the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists (for which he served as president). He served on the Board of Directors for the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin. He has also served on the Anti-Infective and Pediatric Advisory Panels for the Food and Drug Administration.
Michael Nyffeler, PharmD, BCNSP
Mike is the Clinical Specialist for Nutrition Support at UnityPoint Health – Meriter. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin in 1989 and his Pharm.D. degree in 2004. Mike has been practicing in the area of nutrition support since 1990 and became a Board Certified Nutrition Support Specialist in 1995. He was appointed the Clinical Specialist for Nutrition Support in 1999. Mike's practice interests focus on the areas of nutrition support, drug-nutrient interactions, and diabetes management. Mike holds an appointment as a clinical instructor for the University of Wisconsin, School of Pharmacy. He offers a rotation in nutrition support for pharmacy students and residents. He is also a co-preceptor for an elective perioperative services rotation for residents. He maintains active involvement in the Wisconsin Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and is also a member of ASPEN and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Erik Feltz, PharmD
Erik is a Clinical Pharmacist preceptor at UnityPoint Health – Meriter. He received his PharmD degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Pharmacy, in 2004 and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Meriter in 2005. Upon completion of his residency he accepted a position as a Clinical Pharmacist at Meriter working primarily in the areas of critical care, cardiology, and emergency medicine.
Erik is currently the head of emergency pharmacy services at Meriter, having recently established a clinical pharmacy position in the emergency department. He is an active member of the emergency department practice committee representing the pharmacy department and working to advance clinical pharmacy services in the ED. Erik holds an appointment as a Clinical Instructor for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin, is a preceptor for internal medicine for pharmacy students, and offers an elective rotation in emergency medicine for pharmacy residents. He maintains active memberships in ASHP, SCCM, and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Lindsey A.W. Leick, PharmD, BCPS
Lindsey is a clinical pharmacist and cardiology lead pharmacist at UnityPoint Health – Meriter. Lindsey graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy with a PharmD in 2005. She completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency in at Meriter Hospital in 2006, and accepted a clinical pharmacy position thereafter, working primarily in the areas of cardiology, critical care, and nutrition.
Lindsey holds an appointment as a Clinical Instructor for the University of Wisconsin, School of Pharmacy. In addition to precepting both students and residents on rotation in cardiology, Lindsey maintains an active role on several hospital committees, including the Cardiovascular Medical Peer Review committee, Heart Failure Resource group, Chest Pain workgroup, and Cardiothoracic Surgery Practice Committee. Her clinical practice includes pharmacist training and policy & procedure development, as well as participation in hospital-wide quality enhancement projects. Her primary interests are in core measure improvement and readmission reduction in patients with heart failure or acute coronary syndromes. She is Board-certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist and maintains memberships with the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin and American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
