CMS Star Ratings

To help providers and patients choose the right home health agency, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) gathers information that compares home care providers scores in a number of quality and patient experience measures. These measures are used to produce overall star ratings that can be used to compare home health agencies in your area.
UnityPoint at Home is proud to share its quality and patient experience star ratings. To compare star ratings with other home health agencies in your area, simply select one of the cities below.

About the Quality Star Rating

This rating is a summary measure of agency performance-based on how well a home health agency performs on nine individual quality measures reported on Home Health Compare. Across the country, most agencies fall "in the middle" with 3 or 3½ stars being the average rating. A star rating higher than 3½ means that an agency performed better than average compared to other agencies. The star ratings shown here are based on end-of-care assessment dates from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 and Medicare claims data from October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.

About the Patient Experience Rating

This rating is based on the Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey of patients (or their family or friends) about their experience with a home health agency. The information from one home health agency is compared to that from others. More stars indicate better quality care than fewer stars. The star rating shown is developed from survey responses from patients who got home health services between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016.
