GCMH Sleep Services Earns Accreditation
Grundy County Memorial Hospital’s Sleep Center has been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care. This means the GCMH Sleep Center has demonstrated that it operates at a high level of quality, integrity, and effectiveness that is consistent with the ACHC standards. Accreditation is regarded as one of the key benchmarks for measuring the quality of an organization. The accreditation process also demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to remaining compliant with industry standards for best practices, cost containment and performance improvement for our sleep services.
This effort was accomplished through the hospital's partnership with the UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital Center for Sleep, Community Memorial Hospital (Sumner) and Buchanan County Health Center. It’s a great example of how fostering unity within the UnityPoint Health system leads to outstanding outcomes for programs and patients!
Sleep Studies are conducted weekly in the north hallway of the GCMH Inpatient department in soft beds, comfortable surroundings, and under the care of the trained technicians from UnityPoint Allen Hospital: Center for Sleep. Sleep studies are indicated for patients suffering from sleep apnea, excessive snoring, problems staying awake during the day, problems sleeping at night, and other conditions. Please consult your medical provider if you feel you would benefit from a referral for sleep testing.
