Trinity Foundation (Fort Dodge)

Trinity Foundation awards the following health care scholarships annually:

McMillen Scholarship

  • Advanced Nursing Degree
  • Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) nursing student
  • Part-time & full-time students

McMillen Scholarship is provided through the estate of Leone McMillen in memory of her husband Dr. Arch S. McMillen, a longtime Fort Dodge physician. Preference in awarding the scholarship is given to individuals who have completed the nursing program at Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) and are seeking an advanced nursing degree at an accredited educational institution. Nursing students enrolled in the ICCC nursing program also may submit applications. This scholarship is available to both part-time and full-time students. 

Tom and Margaret Welch Scholarship

  • Nurse Aids or Health Workers
  • Nursing Degree
  • Part-time & full-time students

The Tom and Margaret Welch Scholarship was established in 1997. The scholarship is awarded to students who are certified nurse aides or other health workers who aspire to obtain an associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing. The scholarship is available to both part-time and full-time students. 

Roselpha Lovrien Nursing Scholarship

  • Advanced Nursing Degree
  • Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) nursing student

The Roselpha Lovrien Nursing Scholarship was established in 1996 through the estate of Roselpha Lovrien. Preference in awarding this scholarship is given to individuals who have completed the nursing program at Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) and are seeking an advanced nursing degree at an accredited educational institution. Nursing students enrolled in the ICCC nursing program also may submit applications. 

Arthur Moeller Scholarship

  • Advanced Nursing Degree
  • Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) nursing student
  • Part-time & full-time students

The Arthur Moeller Scholarship provides a scholarship to a deserving ICCC nursing student or one seeking an advanced nursing degree in an accredited program. The scholarship fund was established in 1991 in memory and honor of Arthur Moeller for the many years of service he gave to Trinity Regional Medical Center and the Oleson Foundation. This scholarship is available to both part- and full-time students. 

Dr. Clyde A. Lindquist Scholarship

  • Health Science Degree
  • Full-time student

The Dr. Clyde A. Lindquist Scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has been accepted or is enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited higher education program, majoring in a health science field.  Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.  The Lindquist Scholarship was established in 1989 as a perpetual memorial to Dr. Lindquist, a physician and Trinity Regional Medical Center emergency department director who died in a plane crash in September 1988. 

Andrea Reed Scholarship

  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Goal to become Registered Nurse
  • Part-time & full-time students

The Andrea Reed Scholarship is awarded in memory of Andrea, Michael and Isabel Reed. Andrea was an employee of the Pain Center at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Andrea and her family were killed in a tragic accident in January 2007. Preference will be given to a healthcare worker pursing an Associate degree in Nursing with a career goal to become a registered nurse. Preference will also be given to single parent families. The scholarship is available to both part-time and full-time students. 

Amond Scholarship

The John and Eva Amond Scholarship is awarded to an individual who lives or was raised in Fort Dodge and who is enrolled in an accredited nursing program or seeking an advanced degree in nursing.

All scholarship recipients are selected based on academic merit, leadership, citizenship, career objectives, and financial need. Preference is given to qualified applicants from the eight counties (Buena Vista, Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Sac, Webster, and Wright) served by Trinity Regional Medical Center. Caring for Our Future Scholarship

UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge nurses and employees recognize the importance of supporting individuals entering into the nursing profession. The Caring for Our Future Scholarship was created to assist the next generation of nurses and to foster entry level nursing education as well as advanced nursing degrees. This scholarship is made possible by employee donations. Direct care nurses, who are members of the Nursing Shared Governance Council, IGNITE, facilitate this scholarship and review all applications. Apply for the Caring for Our Future Scholarship.
