Leah Glasgo will become the next president and chief executive officer (CEO) for UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge, effective January 28, 2019. 

“On behalf of the UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge Board of Directors and myself, I am very pleased to announce Leah as the new president and CEO for our organization,” says Deb Johnson, chair of the UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge Board of Directors. “Leah is an outstanding leader who knows and understands our mission and our community. I am confident that she is the right person to lead our organization during this time of change in health care.”  

Glasgo started her career at UnityPoint Health in 2013 as the Vice President of Rural Development for the Fort Dodge and Sioux City Regions. She then became the Vice President of Clinical Operations for UnityPoint Health – Sioux City. She was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer and has held that position for the last three years. Prior to joining UnityPoint Health, Leah served as president and CEO of Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City.

During her time in Sioux City, Leah has been instrumental in developing and launching the UnityPoint Health system wide patient experience team and creation of standards of behavior. In addition, she was involved with establishing the system wide Clinical Leadership Group resulting in standardization in practice across our system for sepsis and Coronary Artery Disease. Leah also successfully led the transition of a 15-member cardiology group to employment with UnityPoint Health – Sioux City and implementation of a new Electronic Health Record. 

Glasgo began her career as a nurse receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University. She and her husband, Kelli, have five children, Sydney, Claire, Anna, Jacob and Cooper.
