Both my husband and I were a little nervous before the delivery. Although this was our fourth baby we would be welcoming, it would be our first time delivering at Finley Hospital. I had delivered our three boys (Tayte, Brendyn and Declyn) at Mercy. When our insurance switched a couple of years ago and I had to switch treating OB/GYN providers I was anxious. After meeting Dr. Thaddeus Anderson, I immediately knew I was in good hands. When we found out we were pregnant, we had to then decide where to deliver our baby as both Mercy and Finley were covered by our insurance. Dr. Anderson had advised that he would be able to deliver our baby at either hospital so the decision was ours to make. After visiting Finley for a tour and hearing wonderful stories from several friends who had delivered at Finley we decided it would be the best place to welcome our daughter.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm smiles and a caring staff. Each individual we encountered during our stay went out of their way to ensure the best care for myself and my daughter. Not only did we receive great medical care but the staff was very personable offering advice when asked and taking time to get to know my family and our needs. Often times nurses would stop in that cared for me during a previous shift just to check-in on myself or our daughter. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our nurse Tammy D! She is truly a caring and nurturing person that absolutely loves her job. Also, I was overly impressed with the nurses on night shift and how great they were with caring for my daughter. I had some not so great experiences with my previous hospital stays and deliveries where I was unable to get any rest while in the hospital. There was no coordination of care and I was consistently being woken up almost every for unnecessary reasons. During our stay at Finley I was pleasantly surprised that the staff was not just concerned with going through the motions or a check list but that they really cared about ensuring I was able to go get as much rest as possible and focusing on individualizing my care so that when I returned home to my other children I would not be overwhelmed and exhausted.

We are so glad that we chose Finley for this delivery! After having 4 babies of which 3 were C-Sections it was the best hospital stay we have experienced. This was also my quickest recovery and I owe a huge thanks to both Dr. Anderson and the staff at Finley for that!
