"Before my hip surgery, I was in too much pain to walk. I love to be outside and to garden, but the pain was just eating at me. I had a total hip replacement two months ago at Methodist West and now I'm back to being active.
I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Goetz, my orthopaedic surgeon, or the nurses at Methodist West, they were all incredible! I was really nervous about having surgery, but they did absolutely everything to put me at ease. From the education classes I had before my surgery, to explaining all my meds, helping me with my rehabilitation and even doing follow-up phone calls at my home post-op. It was just such as postitive healing experience.
What made it all even more unique was my Patient Care Facilitator. From start to recovery, she made certain I understood everything, answered all my questions and saw to it that I was always getting the best care. I don't know any other hospital that does this for its patients.
Truly, if I were ever to need another surgery, this is the place I would go first. They spoiled me rotten. I have had a few other surgeries before, but I've never felt as cared for as I did at Methodist West, it was like being at home.
Sincere thanks to all the folks who took care of me. Because of the great care I recieved at Methodist West, this summer I was able to participate in Dam to Dam. Really, they gave me my life back and it couldn't be better."
