Methodist West Hospital offers experienced staff, beautiful surroundings and 24/7 on-site neonatal support in partnership with Blank Children's Hospital. Our goal is to create a special birth experience for you and your family. One of the most beautiful and comfortable maternity centers in Des Moines, the Methodist West Maternity Center supports our family-centered approach to care so each of our rooms is large and spacious to accommodate family and friends. We also provide two waiting areas for family with comfortable seating and televisions.
Our birthing suites are designed with the complete comfort and safety of mother and baby in mind. Our 12 beautiful suites offer many comforts for new moms, including:
- Flat screen televisions
- DVD/CD players
- Whirlpool tubs
- Pull-out couches for family and friends
Convenient room service, offering a wide variety of menu selections Methodist West provides a secure newborn nursery, board-certified anesthesiologists available 24 hours a day, and board-certified lactation consultants. Our Unit also provides specially trained neonatal nurse practitioners from Blank Children's Hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide care to your newest addition. Our neonatal nurse practitioners attend each delivery. The Unit also has a state-of-the-art C-section delivery suite available for both scheduled C-sections and emergency C-sections should the need arise.
Methodist West Hospital is an option for your delivery if you are identified as having a healthy, low-risk pregnancy. The Iowa Clinic proudly delivers babies at Methodist West.
