Meet our Psychiatrists

Eric R. Barlow, M.D. began his psychiatry practice in 2003. He attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and received his medical training at the University of South Dakota. He completed a residency with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Barlow is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His practice focuses on general adult psychiatry including treatment for mood disorders, anxiety disorders and bi-polar disorder. Dr. Barlow's personal interests include spending time with his family, music, theatre, running, reading, racquetball, and basketball. 


 C. Jason Gucfa, M.D. received his medical education from the American University of the Caribbean's School of Medicine and completed his residency with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Gucfa is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His practice will include the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder and adult attention deficit disorder. Dr. Gucfa believes that it's essential to educate his patients and also to work with them closely to plan their treatment. His personal interests include travel, skiing, boating, golf, piano and guitar. 


Mark A. Preston, M.D. began his psychiatry practice in 1989. He received his medical training at the University of Iowa's College of Medicine. He continued at the University of Iowa with a residency in general psychiatry and a fellowship in child psychology. Dr. Preston is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His practice focuses on general adult psychiatry including dementia disorders and addictive disorders. Dr. Preston's personal interests include cycling, camping and backpacking.
