Your Initial Visit
Your first visit to our clinic will include an evaluation by a board-eligible or certified psychiatrist. At the end of this session, you will be informed of our recommendations for treatment, including the possibility of both medication and psychotherapy (counseling). Referring physicians may be notified of the initial visit if we are requested and released to do so.
It is helpful if you arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment to allow time for the registration process. We request that you present your insurance card at each visit. This allows for a more efficient check-out and billing process.
Our office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Our telephone is answered from 9 a.m. to Noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Phone calls over the noon hour are taken by our answering service.
If you have an immediate life-threatening emergency, please seek care at the nearest emergency room or dial 911.
Our physicians are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on-call. If you call during office hours, nurses are available until 4:30 p.m. to take your call, or we will call you back by the end of the day.
Please notify our office 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment in the event you must cancel.
Please allow two working days for your prescription to be refilled. During regular office hours, our physicians will refill enough medication to last until the next appointment. We discourage ongoing refills by telephone except in specific circumstances. Weekend calls for refills are also discouraged and will only be approved in quantities sufficient to last to the next working day.
Due to limited supply, we may provide samples for only a short time when prescribing new medication. If there is a hardship associated with filling prescriptions, we may provide you with access to patient assistance programs.
We participate with most major insurance companies. Please check with your insurer as they may require preauthorization prior to provision of services.
We respectfully ask that you make your co-payment at the time of the service. If you have a substantial account balance, payment may be required before additional services are rendered.
We accept cash, personal checks, VISA, Discover, and MasterCard.
A 20% prompt-pay discount is offered to patients who provide payment at the time of service for our patients without health insurance benefits.
