Intended Audience

This conference is designed for nurses and other healthcare professionals who care for patients who have cancer.

Purpose

To enable the learner to apply the latest advances in the care of patients who have cancer, including medical, surgical and symptom management.

Continuing Education Credit

Approved for 12.5 contact hours (6.25 Day 1, 6.25 Day 2) by Iowa Board of Nursing Provider #31, UnityPoint Health – Des Moines.

Registration Fees

  • Describe the mechanism of action and important safety information for Rituxan Hycela, including dosing and administration.
  • Identify the role of oncology rehabilitation in oncology patients.
  • Explain the reasons for the opioid crisis
  • Identify the role of cannabis in the oncology setting.
  • List two ways to manage peripheral neuropathy.
  • Discuss methods used for smoking cessation.

Day 2

  • Explain political issues impacting access and payment in cancer care.
  • Compare imaging techniques utilized in oncologic diagnosis.
