The time for game-day eats is upon us! Add this snack mix to your usual menu for a crunchy, salt and sweet treat. Using whole grain cereal and popcorn means this snack mix is also loaded with whole grains and fiber. Whole grains also provide B vitamins and minerals like iron, which are all important for general health and healing. Adding dark chocolate chips and raisins helps to increase the vitamin, mineral and antioxidant content of this tasty snack and gives it a touch of sweetness! Finally, mixed nuts and seeds provide fiber, protein and healthy fats to this party mix.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole grain cereal (Wheat Chex, plain Cheerios, etc.)
  • 2 cups sweet-and-salty popcorn
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • ½ cup mixed nuts/seeds, lightly salted
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Directions:

In a bowl, mix together the ingredients and divide into ½ cup servings.
