Jessica

I am an agronomist in NE Iowa and my husband works for my family’s farm growing corn, soybeans and raising hogs.  We are a little late to the kid thing as I’m just not sure how it’s going to work with our schedules, not to mention just plain scared of change.  I guess I had better learn to adapt as we are expecting our first in December 2016.

Introducing..

January 9, 2017

Although the blog has come to an end I wanted to share my birth experience and introduce the newest member of our family. My due date was December 23rd and at our doctor's appointment on the 27th we decided to go in to be induced the next morning. I was nervous at the thought of being induced but ready to have this baby.

Hello, Goodbye!

December 27, 2016

My due date has came and gone. Although I am glad to not have a Christmas baby I am more than ready to get this show on the road. Currently I am three days overdue, I have another appointment tomorrow and I am guessing at which point we will schedule an induction.

Happy Birthday!

December 21, 2016

Happy Birthday..to me! Although there wasn't much celebrating this year I still had a splendid birthday. My friend took me out to lunch, I finished up the last two work things that needed to be done before baby and my husband cooked me supper. Which he has actually been doing most nights recently as I'm done. That is my line at this point, when anyone says anything about any day now, asks how I feel, etc., "I'm done".

Waiting Game

December 16, 2016

I have to admit that pregnancy has been pretty easy for me. I didn't have much morning sickness and what I did have was in the evening so it did not interfere with work. Over all I have felt pretty good and considering what some others have to go through I feel I have no room to complain. What I am finding the most difficult, besides picking a name, is the wait.

Big Brother and Sister

December 13, 2016

In our family our pets are considered just as much part of the family as everyone else. We currently have one cat named squirrel and our dog, Dallas. Squirrel is more half cat half dog. She has that independent personality of a cat, yet we are fairly certain she thinks she is a dog. She is at the door waiting for you when you get home, loves to go outside, and even fetches. Dallas is the baby of the family, spoiled and always wanting attention.

T Minus 8 Weeks

October 31, 2016

Two months. Eight weeks, however you choose to say it, it sounds like a very short time. I feel there is so much to do yet. Not only a lot around the house but also mentally preparing and preparing for things that I am just starting to think about.
