Exercise for weight loss
Health Promotion provides exercise opportunities specifically designed for individuals participating in our weight loss programs. Opportunities for exercise include group exercise sessions, walking groups and fitness challenge. Our Fitness Specialist is also available for fitness assessments and to develop a personalized exercise plan for you.
A fitness assessment is a series of measurements to determine your physical fitness. These measurements include heart rate, blood pressure, body composition, flexibility, strength and aerobic fitness. The assessment includes three separate appointments with a Health Coach - an initial assessment, a follow up consult and a final assessment.
Initial assessment. The initial assessment last about one hour and includes various tests, which are low impact. You should wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes
Follow up consult. During the follow up consult you will receive the results of your initial fitness assessment and how your results compare to others your age. You will be provided with exercise recommendations to help improve your overall fitness and set physical activity goals.
Final assessment. The final assessment is scheduled approximately 90 days after the follow up consult. This is a repeat of the tests completed during the initial fitness assessment. You will be provided with your before and after results and determine a plan to maintain physical activity long-term.
