A. H. Blank dedicated his life to giving back to the Des Moines community and Blank Children's Hospital. To help carry on his legacy, we are asking you to join us July 27 on "Mr. Blank Day" - his birthday - by giving a gift to help children and families in need of your support.

Built through the generosity of A.H. and Anna Blank in memory of their son, the Raymond Blank Memorial Hospital for Children opened its doors in December of 1944 as the first children's hospital in Iowa.

The Blank family knew it took more than medicine for kids to heal,  and they continued to support kids and families by providing a very important treatment plan: fun!

Most memorably, A.H. Blank spent his birthday celebrating with children at the hospital, a holiday that was affectionately named Mr. Blank Day — a tradition still celebrated at Blank Children's today.

Though many things have changed since 1944, one thing remains the same: Blank Children's needs the support of caring, compassionate people — to provide the best possible care for kids and their families.

You can join in the fun by continuing Mr. Blank's legacy with a gift. During this special time, thanks to a group of generous donors, your gift will be matched! When your gift is matched, your impact is doubled.

We are also encouraging the community to #BeLikeMrBlank by participating in Simple Acts of Kindness in July.

To stay informed on how to participate, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter: #BeLikeMrBlank!

Thank YOU for your support of Blank Children's - your gift, and the joy it brings, will mean more than you can imagine!
